The townsite itself for mountain-town atmosphere, or Lake Louise if budget allows — both need very early booking in summer.

Book the Parks Canada Moraine Lake shuttle weeks ahead — no parking is available without a reservation at peak times. With no mosque in town, plan halal meals ahead or stock up from Calgary.

Getting around: Public Roam buses cost $2/ride within the townsite, with a $30/day Super Pass covering the Moraine Lake connector. Free Parks Canada shuttles (late May–early October) link the townsite to Johnston Canyon, Lake Minnewanka and Moraine Lake, but require a mandatory advance reservation. Park entry is $10.50/vehicle (valid until 4pm the next day), and free entirely June 19–September 7, 2026.

Halal & prayer places: Very modest, as expected of a small mountain town — one or two declared halal spots (Banff Shawarma, and the halal-certified Night Owl Shawarma Donair), no mosque in the townsite itself. Bringing supplies or planning meals ahead is advisable.
