πΈ Top activities & landmarks
- The Cedars of God forest β Lebanon's living symbol
- Qadisha Valley and its rock-cut monasteries (UNESCO)
- The Gibran Khalil Gibran Museum
- Panoramic hiking trails above the valley

Warm family guesthouses in Bcharre and the Cedars; nearby Ehden offers more choice in summer.
β οΈ Tips & warnings
The mountain road needs a driver comfortable with hairpins β avoid it at night or in snow without experience. Signal fades in the valley, so download maps offline.
π On the ground
Getting around: ~120 km from Beirut (2.5 hours via Chekka then a stunning winding climb). Car or driver essential β no practical public transport. The road itself is half the joy.
Halal & prayer places: A storied Maronite village β few restaurants, alcohol present; meat is usually local. Conservative families do best arranging guesthouse meals in advance.
Local safety: Same as country β
Cost figures: 2026 prices: Cedars reserve entry ~$5 donation, Gibran Museum ~$5, mountain guesthouse $50β120/night, winter ski pass ~$30β50.
β±οΈ How many days?
1-2 days
Suggested plan:
