City center (Altstadt) is good — quiet and relatively easy bus access to Sanssouci. Fewer hotels than Berlin but much quieter.

Potsdam works best as a day trip from Berlin — the city itself is small and quiet. Renting a bike to explore the royal parks is fun and practical. Avoid Prussian holidays if you prefer quiet.

Getting around: Direct S-Bahn from Berlin Hauptbahnhof to Potsdam Hauptbahnhof in 30 minutes for €3.60 (Berlin-Potsdam ticket). The local network (VBB) is small and compact. The city walks partially but the royal park (Sanssouci) requires a bus or rental bike.

Halal & prayer places: Very limited — Potsdam is a small, quiet city without a large halal cluster. Few verified halal restaurants. Best to plan halal meals in Berlin before or after visiting Potsdam (30 minutes away).
