The Mercedes Museum requires advance booking and several hours — book online. If you're a car enthusiast both museums are must-sees; if not, Stuttgart is an elegant stopover only.

Getting around: The VVS network (U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram, buses) is reliable; a single zone ticket costs €2.80 (2026), day ticket roughly €8.50. From Stuttgart Airport: direct S2/S3 to Hauptbahnhof in 27 minutes for €4.60. The center is relatively compact.
