Tax plus tip adds ~28% to any listed price — budget it upfront. Niagara's falls awe; its Clifton Hill strip is loud carnival commerce — don't make it the point. Halal thrives in nearly every district.

Getting around: The TTC subway runs a flat $3.30 fare with a free 2-hour transfer (tap a contactless bank card right at the gate), and a dense surface streetcar network covers downtown well. From Pearson Airport: the UP Express train reaches Union Station in 25 minutes ($12.35, cheaper with a PRESTO card), or the TTC's 900 bus to Kipling station runs at the regular fare but takes an hour or more. Uber/Lyft from the airport to downtown run roughly $55–70.

Halal & prayer places: One of the most halal-dense cities in North America — 380+ verified halal restaurants and 55+ mosques and prayer spaces per Zabihah, with even major chains (Popeyes, Mary Brown's, Paramount Fine Foods, Osmow's) offering halal options at multiple locations. Thorncliffe Park and Gerrard Street East (sometimes called 'Little Pakistan') hold the densest cluster of halal butchers and South Asian eateries. Muslims make up roughly 8–9% of Greater Toronto's population — over half a million people.
