Small guesthouses near the old town are a cheaper, calmer alternative to staying in busy Dubrovnik.

Good as a one-day stopover between Mostar and Dubrovnik — half a day is enough to see its essence.

Getting around: No airport — usually visited as a stop between Mostar and Dubrovnik by bus or rental car (Mostar ~1.5–2 hrs, Dubrovnik ~1 hr across the border). The old town is small and fully walkable.

Halal & prayer places: Thin — the population is majority Orthodox, and local menus default to including pork and alcohol. The historic 18th-century Osman-Pasha Mosque is active, but there's no confidently-declared halal restaurant — lean on fish and vegetarian dishes, or ask directly.

Cost figures: 2026 prices: casual meal 10–15 KM, coffee in Platanus Square 2–3 KM — noticeably cheaper than neighboring Dubrovnik. The Mostar–Trebinje bus runs roughly 15–20 KM.
