December–February (southern summer, days up to 17 hours of light) is best for outdoor activity; winter is bitterly cold and darkens early but suits local ski activities.

Central Ushuaia overlooking the channel is the best base — the few tours and restaurants are nearby.

Getting around: A direct domestic flight (~3.5h from Buenos Aires, the country's longest domestic route). Tierra del Fuego national park is 20 minutes away by car.

Halal & prayer places: Completely zero — the country's most isolated town; local fish (king crab) and vegetables are the only options available.
